The Marlins

In 2005 the Washington Nationals shocked the expects by remaining competitive through the All-star break. A group of young players with a chip on their shoulder and alot of enthusiasm played way over their heads. The next year they came back to Earth and were in the basement for the entire season.

This story repeated itself in 2006 when the Florida Marlins after another Fire sale during the off season were suppose to be even worse than the Nationals. But the Marlins out preformed everybody and were in the wild card hunt until Sept.. Just as the Nationals did, I believed the marlins played over their heads and would come back down to earth this year. But what may make it a more rapid decent is that after trading their # 6 starter to us (Jason Vargas), two of their starters are having difficulties this spring. Josh Johnson is expected to miss the start of he season, while Ricky Nolasco has missed a start with muscle spasms.

Josh Johnson has been diagnosed with an irritated ulnar nerve that will likely force him to miss at least the first two months of the season.

Ricky Nolasco was scratched from his scheduled start Monday because of back spasms. source Roto world
