Kazmir injuried ?

The long despised Kazmir/Zambrano trade is a part of Mets folklore on the same level as the treatment of Tom Seaver. Peter Abraham of Lo Hud Journal reports on Kashmir's condition and speculates that maybe there was more to the trade then meets the eye.


People around the Tampa Bay Devil Rays say that Scott Kazmir's fastball is around 91 mph this season, not the 95 it usually is. Is that early-season sluggishness or an injury he is trying to pitch through? Kazmir ended last season on the disabled list with a shoulder issue, after all. Kazmir lasted only four innings against Baltimore on Wednesday night, throwing 102 pitches and walking a career-worst four. He threw first-pitch strikes to only seven of the 20 hitters he faced.
