Castro Shelved

It appears that Ramon Castro will start the year on the disabled list with a strained hamstring. Raul Casanova appears to be a serviceable back-up plan for the short term, he seems to call a good game and can hit enough as a back-up catcher on the major league level.

Ramon Castro suffered a setback with his strained right hamstring while running today and appears likely to start the season on the DL. That leaves Raul Casanova as the expected backup to Brian Schneider when the Mets’ season opens Monday. source Daily News
