Blake would make alot of sense....

Now that the Indians have officially become sellers by trading C.C. Sabathia, there are plenty of rumors as to who else is available. Cleveland is a team that made it to the ALCS last year so they're not in a full blown rebuilding situation, this will be considered an off year due to injuries and slumping players. The Indians will more then likely limit their trades to veteran players for re-stocking and unless blown away by a trade proposal they will keep their young core players, which is perfect for the Mets who don't have a lot to offer. First of all Omar and Shapiro are said to be good friends who speak frequently.

Casey Blake is considered to be one of those players who could be available and would be a nice fit for the Mets. The 35 y/o right hander is only signed for this year, he is hitting overall .280 but is currently very hot. His primary position is 3B but has extensive experience as a corner outfielder and limited experience at 1B. His cost shouldn't be that much unless other teams became interested and it resulted in a bidding war.....

The Indians have marketable veterans aside from C.C. Sabathia. Take third baseman Casey Blake, who's hitting .353/.414/.529 since the beginning of June. He's owed about $2.8MM for the remainder of the season and figures to draw decent trade attention. source MLBTR
