Nixon out for the year

I mentioned earlier today that it was strange not to hear anything about Trot Nixon since the club is desperate for outfield help and his 15 day DL stint should be up. While I heard many complain that Omar was bringing in another washed up veteran when Nixon was signed, the players were very happy with Nixon. Since I didn't see any sign of injury I thought maybe Nixon was on the DL with a nagging injury to hide him from being waived, like what happened to Andy Phillips. But after asking John Delcos of Lo Hud Journal I was surprised with his response, that Nixon is out for the year........
