According to Boston.com the Mets are close to a deal for Derek Lowe which would be in the range of 3-4 years at 15M per year. To be honest this sounds like the Yahoo sports rumor from last night that's been taken a little further, there's not much substance to it and it was submitted by "staff". But it's nice to see that our main rivals for the player appear to be conceding, I'm attempting to contain my hope on this one. There's always the mystery team or a last minute offer with Boras involved....
According to a baseball source, The New York Mets appear to be closing in on a deal for free-agent pitcher Derek Lowe. The deal is believed to be four years in length, or three years with a vesting option. source Boston.com
