John Perrotto of Baseball Prospectus in his latest On the Beat ( subscription Req.) is reporting a possible block buster trade in the works between the White Sox's and Mets. We know the teams have had dialogue and the two GMs are friendly. Several White Sox's blogs felt that the Vazquez trade was the predecessor to other maneuvers, could this be it. The Sox's get a potential all-star outfielder at 19y/o, plus probably solid young relievers with closer ability like Parnell and/or Kunz. The Mets get a young closer and the final piece to thier offense. Bring in Hoffman to mentor Jenks and the puzzle seems complete.
Perrotto speaks of whispers of a possible White Sox-Mets blockbuster. The Mets would receive Jermaine Dye and Bobby Jenks and the White Sox would receive Fernando Martinez among others. source MLBTR
