Well we had Glavine why not Smoltz....

John Smoltz wants to pitch next year his only pre-requisite is to pitch for a contender. It's being reported that Smoltz is considering four teams; Braves, Red Sox, Mets and Tigers. I wonder if he wants to be a starter or in the pen. The 41 y/o right handed, future Hall of Famer is one of those pitchers with 200 wins and 150 saves. His best year as a starter was in 1996 when he went 24-8 with an ERA of 2.94, then in 2002 he recorded 55 saves of 59 opportunities with an ERA of 3.25. According to reports he looks great throwing all four of his pitches; curve, slider, splitter and fast ball.

John Smoltz wants to pitch for a team that could take him to the World Series. He hopes that's Atlanta, but Smoltz is considering Boston, the New York Mets, and his hometown Detroit Tigers as possible destinations according to a major league source Boston Globe
