Wiggy non-tendered...

A very popular figure amongst Mets was Ty Wigginton who was traded for Chris Benson which also opened up third base for David Wright. Many would like the Mets to bring him back as a bench player but I'm not sure they have room for him, Wiggy would basically be a duplication of Tatis and the Mets need a guy who can back-up short stop as well.
Wiggy is a 31 y/o right handed batter with a lifetime BA of .270 and .480 Slg. pct. He is primarily a 3B but has spent time at 1B/2B and OF.

The Astros are also passing on Ty Wigginton, figuring his salary was a good place to save a few bucks. If you're looking for a silver lining, it's that Ed Wade is no longer attempting to move payroll and keep the line at $100 million. The payroll could be $110 million by opening day, and Drayton McLane appears to be fine with that. source Houston Chronicle
