Omar sign Pudge !!.....

In one player you get a veteran leader, fiery clubhouse figure, right handed bat and a good game caller. Even if he's now a .270 hitter and .400 slugger, it's an up-grade over what we have. I know everybody points to his .219 hitting in the Bronx last year but that was 33 games and before that he was hitting almost .300 before leaving Detroit. For those of you against the idea, when Schneider's hitting .225 this season and Castro's on the DL while Pudge is becoming a Met killer in Florida rem. this post. Not only is Pudge determined to enter someones camp in great shape he's proving it by hitting .355 in winter ball.....

"I'm in great shape," he said. "Whoever gets me, it's going to be a lot like hitting the lotto. I'm back in the shape I was in 2004. I'm at 195-200 (pounds), and I'm ready to go. "I just want to let everyone know I'm ready to go." source CBS sports

In 2004, Pudge went .334/.383/.510 in 575 plate appearances; in 2008, he went .276/.319/.394 in 429. source MLBTR
