WBC will effect line-up changes for the season

In another season, we may have actually seen Jerry Manuel's radical line-up change in April but as it is now the WBC may have blocked such a move. I would be less worried with the top of the order then the bottom; I think Castillo, Beltran, Reyes, Delgado, Wright would work but three straight lefties would force the team to carry another righty on the bench for late inning match-ups ( Anderson gone/ Keilty or Pagan in). But such a dramatic change would need to be test run for more then a few games and thanks to the WBC there won't be time for that....

Jose Reyes now has added incentive for the Dominican Republic to advance far in the World Baseball Classic. Jerry Manuel said Sunday that a lengthy absence from camp, such as reaching the March 23 finals at Dodger Stadium, wouldn't leave enough time to consider lineup alternatives such as Luis Castillo leading off and Reyes hitting third. source Daily News
