J.J. Putz back to NY for an exam

J.J. Putz assumed his new role today, pitching in a game during the seventh inning and under less pressure.

Putz came in to start the seventh with the Mets trailing by four, but the results weren't any better, he allowed two runs on three hits, in one inning of work.
After the game, it was disclosed that Putz will go back to NY and have his elbow checked. Angel Pagan had a bone spur removed from his throwing elbow and was out 6-8 weeks.
J.J. Putz will be in New York on Friday for an examination on his right elbow. He may need surgery to remove the bone spur, but will wait for the recommendation for team doctors. source Daily News
