Roster suggestions without a trade..

Here are a few of my roster suggestions, without making a trade, but again I feel it's imperative for Omar to trade for a bat and sooner then later...

None of these are exciting moves or even innovative, but at this point, with as many injuries as the Mets have, I would opt for experience over inexperience.

I'm of the opinion that none of the current younger players belong in the majors, under this teams current situation. If this team had their full compliment of positional players and you wanted to sprinkle one of these players in, with no pressure and in their natural position it would make sense. But to play out of position as a starter and a main cog in the line-up, it's a recipe for disaster and will cause pressing and frustration by the regular major leaguers.

A would demote Fernando Martinez, Dan Murphy and Argenis Reyes...

I would replace Fernando Martinez with Cory Sullivan, in three major league seasons as a starting center fielder Sully hit .279, in the playoffs for the Rockies he hit .333. The 29 y/o left handed hitter, has batted .287 as the lead-off hitter for the Bison's this season.

Dan Murphy would be replaced by Mike Lamb, Lamb has a little pop in his bat and is a serviceable 1B/3B, he can also catch in an emergency and has some outfield experience.

Wilson Valdez can't hit a lick, but neither can A. Reyes and Valdez is a better glove/arm while being a veteran at the plate ( patient and gets the count up even when it's an out).

Evans would remain until a trade was made...
