Another possible trade that could impact the Mets..

The D-Backs and Blue Jays are discussing a trade in which the Jays would receive C Chris Snyder while the D-Backs would obtain 1B Lyle Overbay.

If the trade goes through the Jays would have their catcher and would no longer be looking at Rod Barajas. The Mets have supposedly have targeted Rod Barajas as their primary target for their vacant position. Barajas hit 21 HRs last year, which I'm sure is appealing to a power starved team and he won't cost too much. Snyder is only 28 y/o and considered a good defender but he's coming off back surgery and the most HRs he's ever hit in a season was 16, which was before the back issues.

But with the D-Backs acquiring a full time veteran 1B they maybe more willing to part with Conor Jackson. In three full time seasons he has averaged 15 HRs with a BA of .290 while playing 1B and LF. In the minors he played much more often in the outfield but since coming to the majors he had primarily been a 1B. He lost most of this year to valley fever but is doing well in winter ball and is expected to be 100% come spring. Jackson is due to hit arbitration and the D-Backs might be looking to move him...

The D-backs and Blue Jays are "making progress" on a deal that would send catcher Chris Snyder to Toronto and first baseman Lyle Overbay to Arizona, according to a Major League source. source MLB.com
