Talk about bad contracts, Brian Schneider some how talked the Phillies into a two year deal worth 2.75MM. Schneider will be the back-up to Carlos Ruiz, I'm sure his offense will benefit from playing home games in Citizen Bank and it's his home town team, but still how do they justify two years.

Former Met Ruben Gotay signed a minor league deal with the Cardinals (source Baseball Moves), Gotay has struggled the last two years, first in Atlanta and then never got a call up last year with the D-Backs. Still he's only 26 y/o and is a switch hitter, I expect he'll be a serviceable utility player bouncing around the league for years to come.
