Schneider will be the back-up to Carlos Ruiz, I'm sure his offense will benefit from playing home games in Citizen Bank and it's his home town team, but still how do they justify two years.We feel Brian is ideal for our ballclub," Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. said in a statement. Former Met Ruben Gotay signed a minor league deal with the Cardinals (source Baseball Moves), Gotay has struggled the last two years, first in Atlanta and then never got a call up last year with the D-Backs.
