Mets intensifying interest in 2nd tier OF- Rivera, Willingham

Numerous reports indicate that the Mets aren't willing to meet the demands of Matt Holliday or Jayson Bay. On the heels of those reports the NY Post says the Mets have intensified their interest in several type 'B' outfielders, specifically Juan Rivera and Josh Willingham...

It was reported early in the day that the Angels are making Rivera available to make room for one of the big time outfielders. Willingham is believed to be available but only for a bowl-them-over package. Rivera got himself in the doghouse by not hustling last year in the playoffs and while Willingham has the power we lust for he is a horrible defender...

Fearing the market for Jason Bay and Matt Holliday will soar beyond their financial parameters, the Mets have intensified their pursuit of the Nationals’ Josh Willingham and the Angels’ Juan Rivera to fill their left field hole, the Post has learned. source NY Post
