"I would tell him to come,” said Reyes, who was at Citi Field for the Mets annual Holiday Party. “He’s a good friend. I haven’t talked to him, but I would tell him to come.” When asked if he thought hitters' struggles at Citi Field would make free agents think twice before signing on with the Mets, Reyes scoffed. “If you’re a hitter, you’re gonna hit,” Reyes said. “You can hit here.” source Daily News

They have one option to make a big splash this off-season and that's Jason Bay. Figuratively, they have placed all their eggs in one basket and this could be the most important negotiation of Omar Minaya's tenure as Mets GM. Without Bay this off-season, which already looks bad becomes an utter disaster and could eventually cost Omar his job ( I hope that isn't too much pressure). But he has an ally and tool that he has failed to use, Jose Reyes played with Jason Bay in the Mets minor leagues in 2002 and considers Bay a friend. Omar give the guy a cell phone and see if he can help get him here, whats the harm....
