By now we've all heard the rumor from 1050 ESPN Rich Coutinho that the Mets were supposedly interested in Christian Guzman. For all those still breathing in a bag over the idea don't Adam Rubin has already dispelled the idea. This post isn't to be another report on the rumor but more to discuss the implication if the rumor was even remotely true.1. If they're looking at SS they have concerns
about how long Jose will be out.
2. There must be concerns about over exposing
Tejada or using Cora/Adams full time.
3. With Reyes out (along w/ Beltran) they must be concerned with the offense as Guzman,
despite his horrible OBP is known as an offensive SS.
4. This is the level SS they're going to find this late in spring training if their really looking for one.
