In case you missed it Jose Reyes will be out for 2-8 weeks with this thyroid condition. There has been a lot of hoopla today about the Mets showing poor communication skills and miss-handling the situation, at this point who cares, two of our stars are already down before a single game has been played. The Mets are said to be going with youngster Ruben Tejada and Alex Cora.
All I can say is get well soon and come back fast....
Minaya said 20-year-old Ruben Tejada could be the Mets' Opening Day shortstop, with Alex Cora also an option. Tejada is somewhat used to a big stage, having represented Panama in the World Baseball Classic. He makes solid contact, but he has a small, 6-foot, 160-pound frame and isn't projected to hit for much power. Tejada hit .289 with five homers and 46 RBI in 488 at-bats with Double-A Binghamton last season. source Daily News
