According to Steve Popper if the cost of guys like Chris Young and Jeff Frances are too high they are still looking in other areas for pitching help such as Boof Bonser and Taylor Tankersley.
Boof Bonser is a 29 y/o right handed pitcher who started his career as the #2 behind Johan Santana in Minnesota. In 2008 he started working out of the Minnesota pen but then lost all of 2009 to a shoulder injury. He returned in 2010 splitting time between Boston and Oakland, coming back from injury he made 14 relief appearances with an ERA of 6.12.
Taylor Tankersley is a left handed specialist, after three straight seasons in the Marlins bullpen he was demoted in 2009 and then had elbow surgery. He returned in 2010 but posted an ERA of 7.10, he became a free agent when he refused assignment. The 27 y/o lefty has a lifetime ERA of 4.58, left handed batters have a .233 BA against.
