Blaine Boyer made it through waivers but instead of accepting assignment he opted for free agency. For a team to claim him they would have had to make room on the active roster. Boyer's agent probably has feelers out for teams interested in him who have a better chance of making the playoffs. If he doesn't sign a minor league deal with a contender he can always resign with the Mets...
