Many have compared Duda to Adam Dunn both in stature and power potential, I have felt Duda aside from some mediocre starters and middle relievers has looked way over matched against major league hitting. I was curious to take a look at how the two compared to start their careers.
Duda at 24 y/o made 92 PA last year to start his major league career in which he hit .202 with 4 HRs, 6 doubles, 13 RBIs, 6 walks and 22 SO. Including his 10 games this year he is a combined .183 hitter with 4 HRs, 7 doubles, 13 RBIs, 8 walks and 28 SO.
In 2001 Dunn at 21y/o played in 66 games with 286 PA which doesn't seem like a fair comparison. However, Dunn's first month (July) was only 10 games which is exact same amount of games Duda has played this season and in his second month he played in 29 games which is also exactly what Duda had last year.
In those first 10 games, three years younger then Duda, Dunn hit .268 with 1 HR, 3 doubles, 7 RBIs, 7 walks and 10 SO. Then in his 29 game second month he hit .282 with 12 HRs, 7 doubles, 27 RBIs, 20 walks and 36 SO.
Other then size at this point I'm not sure if it's a fair comparison, for Duda in regards to expectations and Dunn in regards to accomplishments.
