Around The Minors From 6/24/2011

Short Season Rookie Ball - Brooklyn Cyclones (5-2, 1st place) - The Cyclones lost to Hudson Valley last night by the score of 5-1. 1B Luke Stewart drove in the lone run for the Cyclones on an RBI 3B.

Single-A - Savannah Sand Gnats (39-30, 1st place) - The Savannah Sand Gnats lost to Augusta by the score of 4-2. 3rd baseman Adelin Rodriguez drove in the Sand Gnats 2 runs as he went 1-3 on the evening.

Single-A Advanced - St. Lucie Mets (39-32, 1st place) - The St. Lucie Mets game with Jupiter was postponed due to rain.

Double-A - Binghamton Mets (25-45, 6th place) - The B-Mets defeated the Bowie Baysox by the score of 5-3. B-Mets 3rd baseman Joshua Satin hit for the cycle, going 4-4, with a HR, 2 RBI, and 2 runs scored. The 25 year old is now hitting .316, with 9 HR and 43 RBI in 66 games for the B-Mets.

Triple-A - Buffalo Bisons (30-45, 4th place ) - The Bisons defeated the Norfolk Tides yesterday by the score of 4-2. Zach Lutz hit his 4th HR of the year and raised his season average to .326. Pat Misch picked up the win by throwing 6 innings of 2 run ball while striking out 7. Mike O'Connor and Ryota Igarashi combined to pitch 3 scoreless innings of relief to help Misch pick up the win.
