Cecil Sees Mets as option for Prince...

Let me preface this by saying that Cecil Fielder isn't close with his son Prince which he admits to in the article.  So this is as much speculation By Cecil as it would be by any of us, except that maybe Cecil knows Prince's personality and maybe he knows that his son desires the big city lights.

Prince's agent is Scott Boras so this will more then likely come down to who is willing to pay him the most, which I think automatically rules the Mets out.  In his last year of control arbitration was avoided with a year 15.5 M contract.

The 27 y/o 1B is a lefty hitter, in his seven year career he's averaged 38 HRs, 107 RBIs, 32 doubles and 90 walks per season along with a BA of .281.

For those saying what about Ike Davis, Cecil seems to have a plan...

The elder Fielder said he would shuttle Davis to a corner outfield spot to make room for Prince, whom he expects to be enamored by the big city, saying, "If you want to get in the bright lights, you've got to come to New York." source Daily News
