Pre-Game: Game 64- New York Mets VS Pittsburgh Pirates

The Mets will look to get back to the .500 mark tonight as they take on the Pirates at PNC Park. Winners of 5 of their last 6 games, the Mets starting pitching has been fantastic as of late going 4-0, with a 1.49 ERA across their last 6 starts.

R.A. Dickey (3-6, 4.04) will take the hill tonight in hopes of continuing the Mets starting pitching dominance. Dickey has been fantastic since tearing his plantar fascia, pitching to the tune of a 1.85 ERA and compiling a 2-1 record over his last 4 starts. Dickey faced the Pirates on May 31 at Citi field and despite striking out a season high of 10, he took the loss as he gave up 3 ER in the 8th inning of a 5-1 loss.

On the mound for the Pirates tonight will be right-hander James McDonald (3-4, 4.97). McDonald held the Mets to only 1 run across 6 innings when he opposed Dickey on May 31st. In his last start however, McDonald was not very effective as he walked 5 Phillies and allowed 3 runs over 4 innings of work. In his career against the Mets, McDonald is 0-1, with a 3.63 ERA over 22.1 innings.
