Pre-Game: Game 70 - Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim VS New York Mets

The Mets finally return home tonight after completing a very successful 10 game (6-4) road trip by opening a 3-game interleague series with the LA Angels. The Angels have struggled lately going 3-7 in their last 10 games played while falling to 3rd place in the AL Western division, 3 games behind the leading Rangers.

On the mound for the Mets tonight will be left-hander Chris Capuano (5-6, 4.40). Capuano has been very good lately while winning his last 2 starts. In his last start on Sunday in Pittsburgh, he held the Pirates to only 3 hits over 7 innings in what turned out to be a 7-0 Mets win. If Capuano can pick up a win tonight it will be the first time since 2007 in which he would win 3 consecutive starts.

On the mound for Angels will be right-hander Joel Pineiro (2-3, 4.03). Pineiro has been stuck on 99 career wins for 6 starts now as he has really struggled as of late. In his last 6 starts he is 0-3, with a 5.50 ERA. Pineiro has had good success against New York, sporting a record of 3-0, with a 4.15 ERA.
