Around The Minors From 7/14/2011


Short Season Rookie Ball - Brooklyn Cyclones (13-13, 3rd place) - The Clyclones defeated Auburn by the score of 2-0 last night. 1B Cole Frenzel went 2-4, and drove in the only two runs of the game with a single in the 5th inning.

Single-A - Savannah Sand Gnats (14-7, 1st place) - The Sand Gnats lost to Lexington by the score of 7-1. LF Jet Butler drove in the only run of the game for the Gnats by blasting his first HR of the year.

Single-A Advanced - St. Lucie Mets (11-8, 2nd place) - St. Lucie lost to Lakeland by the score of 4-3. Designated Hitter Juan Lagares went 1-2, with an RBI and a R scored.

Double-A - Binghamton Mets (36-56, 5th place) - The B-Mets split a double-header with New Hampshire yesterday, losing the first game 5-3, while winning the second game 1-0. In Game 1, 1B Allan Dykstra went 2-3, with a HR (11), and RBI and R scored. In Game 2, Designated Hitter Dusty Ryan went 1-2, with a 3B and a run scored.

Triple-A - Buffalo Bisons (39-53, 5th place ) - The Bisons defeated Rochester by the score of 5-3 yesterday. Recently signed Miguel Batista started for the Bisons, and pitched 3.2 innings of 2 hit, shutout ball. First-basemen Zach Lutz went 2-5 in the game, with a run scored.
