Around The Minors From 7/22/2011


Short Season Rookie Ball - Brooklyn Cyclones (19-15, 2nd place) - The Cyclones defeated Aberdeen by the score of 11-1. SS and lead-off hitter Daniel Muno went 4-5, with 2 2B, 3 R, and 2
RBI.

Single-A - Savannah Sand Gnats (17-11, 1st place) - The Sand Gnats defeated West Virginia 3-1 yesterday. Starting Pitcher Yohan Almonte threw 7 innings of 1 run (0 ER) ball in route to the win. LF Alonzo Harris went 2-3 on the evening and drove in all 3 Gnats runs, one of which came on his 2nd HR of the year.

Single-A Advanced - St. Lucie Mets (17-9, 1st place) - St. Lucie's game with Brevard County was PPD due to rain.

Double-A - Binghamton Mets (40-60, 5th place) - The B-Mets lost to Reading 5-2. CF Matt Den Dekker provided all the offense on th evening for the B-Mets on a 2-run HR (6) in the 5th.

Triple-A - Buffalo Bisons (42-58, 5th place ) - The Bisons lost to Pawtucket 5-2 last night. In the loss, newly promoted Josh Satin recorded his first hit on the Triple-A level, a single that came in the 8th.
