Game 92 - Mets vs. Phillies

The Mets will open the "second half" of the 2011 season tonight with the 1st place Phillies. Many feel that the next 12 games will go a long way in determining if the Mets are buyers or sellers at the trade deadline. With the questions surrounding the ball club regarding Carlos Beltran and other players, will they be able to focus on the field and trim their 7.5 deficit in the wild card race? Tonight will be the first test for this gritty club.

On the mound for the Mets will be right-hander R.A. Dickey (4-7, 3.61). Dickey has been fantastic lately as he is 3-2 with a 2.42 mark over his last 10 outings. In his career against the Phillies, Dickey is 2-2, with a 2.25 ERA.

Taking the hill for the Phillies will be right-hander Vance Worley (4-1, 2.20). The 23-year-old, is 2-0 with a 0.72 ERA during his last four starts and was dominant in his last start, giving up three hits and one walk over six innings of a 6-0 win Saturday. In his career against the Mets, Worley is 1-1, with a 4.50 ERA over 10 innings.
