Lujan should get called up...

Video is of John Lujan recording a four out save while he was with the B-Mets earlier in the season. In all Lujan recorded seven saves in AA and has one in Buffalo while working as Dale Thayer's set-up man.

Mets middle relievers are struggling resulting in Mgr. Terry Collins sticking with starters longer and using the same guys repeatedly to secure late inning wins.

Igarashi is the best of the bunch and even he has an ERA of 4.50.  Acosta has been more inconsistent then good with a 5.60 ERA.  Carrasco has had his moments getting big outs and giving the team a few quality innings but even he's pitching to a 5.46 ERA.

Isringhausen, Byrdak and Beato have been consistently strong.  Since Krod left Parnell has had only three good outings in eight appearances, if I had to guess I think Bobby is pressing.

I was asked who I would bring up, Mike O'Connor and Dale Thayer have had their chances and weren't very impressive.

My vote would go to John Lujan, since being promoted to Buffalo from AA Binghampton he has posted a 3.07 ERA in 20 appearances.  In 29.1 innings he's allowed only seven walks while striking out 28.  Against left handed hitters ( 12.1 innings) he's held them to a .213 BAA and posted a 2.19 ERA.

It would be easier to recall Thayer or O'Connor as they are on the 40 man roster and have had 10 days since their last move but the Mets have room, right now there are 38 players on the 40 man roster.  I would send down Acosta to give Lujan a chance, at least we would see what we have with him...
