Pre-Game 106: New York Mets @ Washington Nationals

The New York Mets(54-51) will look to win their 5th consecutive game tonight as they face the Washington Nationals(49-55) in the nation's capitol.

Dillon Gee(9-3, 3.75 ERA) will look to become a 10 game winner in his rookie campaign as he faces a team he has had a lot of success against since being called up last year. In 14 2/3 innings pitched against the Washington Nationals, Dillon Gee has only surrendered a solo home run to Willie Harris, a hit that broke up his no-hit bid last September. Gee has carried no hit bids against the Nationals into the 5th inning or beyond in the two starts and will look to continue his success tonight.

Chien-Ming Wang(0-0, 0.00 ERA) will make his first major league start in over 2 years tonight against the New York Mets. Wang underwent shoulder surgery that effectively ended his less than spectacular year with the Yankees in 2009(1-6, 9.64 ERA) before being non-tendered that winter. Signed by the Nationals heading into the 2010 season, Wang's setbacks prevented him from pitching. Finally healthy and having touched 91 MPH in the minor leagues during his rehab starts, Wang will look to make an impression with his new club against the Mets tonight.
