Capuano clears waivers makes sense for the D-Backs...

Most teams place many of their players on waivers, especially those teams who are out of the race.  It allows them to gauge interest in a player and if the player makes in through successfully, they can freely trade them.

According to Buster Olney, Cappy has cleared waivers, meaning the Mets are free to trade him to any team if they so desire.  The question is whether anyone would make it worth their while to trade him, he doesn't make enough to be considered salary relief and the Mets like what he brings to the club.

From the other teams point of view Cappy is a fifth starter or long reliever, as he seems to tire regularly in the fifth inning.  Of course; being that he's a lefthander will always increase his value.
