Major Knee Injury For Murphy??

Updated 5:15: Despite not having performed the MRI yet, the Mets have placed Daniel Murphy on the disabled list and called up Ruben Tejada in his absence.  We will again update when more information is available.

Posted at 3:40: Daniel Murphy sustained what looked to be a major left knee injury in the top of the seventh inning when Jose Constanza made an awkward slide into second in collecting his first major league stolen base.  Upon over sliding the bag, Constanza seemingly cleated Murphy on the outside of the left knee causing the knee the buckle.

Murphy immediately came up lame and hopped into shallow center field before falling to the ground.  As the Mets training staff helped Murphy off the field, he was unable to put any weight on that left leg.  No official word on the injury, but it did not look good at all.

More information to come on this issue when available...
