Post-Game: Mets Get Steam Rolled By Phillies

The Mets lost to the Phillies by the score of 10-0. There really isn't much to say. The Mets were simply dismantled by a far superior team. Dillon Gee had absolutely no control as walked 6 Phillies hitters and allowed 8 ER in his shortest outing of the season. The Mets offense was dormant once again as they were only able to muster 5 measly singles against a rolling Cliff Lee.

Game Notes:
  • David Wright went 1-4.
  • Lucas Duda went 2-4.
  • Ruben Tejada went 2-3.
The Mets have now lost 4 in a row and 16 of their last 20 games. Frankly it is starting to get very tough to watch this offense play everyday. There are so many holes in this lineup. It doesn't help that the Mets two biggest rivals, the Phillies and Braves are destined to meet up in the NLCS. It looks like we are in for a long October folks.

The Mets continue their 3 game series with the Phillies in Philadelphia tomorrow evening. The starting pitchers will left-hander Jon Niese for the the Mets and right-hander Vance Worley for the Phillies. First pitch it scheduled for 7:05 PM.
