Pre-Game 114: Atlanta Braves @ New York Mets

The New York Mets(56-56) will look to roll with the momentum they acquired after last night's rout of the Wild Card leading Atlanta Braves(65-49) this afternoon at 1:10 PM ET.

Dillon Gee(10-3, 3.69 ERA) will look to extend his rookie lead in wins to 11 as he faces a team he has had great success against in his short major league career. Having pitched 23 2/3 innings over 4 starts against the Braves, Gee has only allowed 4 runs. Furthermore? While it's a small sample, Gee has been able to keep Chipper Jones at bay, keeping him without a hit in 5 plate appearances. Gee has enjoyed pitching at Citi Field this year, carrying a 5-2 record with a miniscule 2.85 ERA. In fact, Gee shut down the Braves on June 4th, pitching 7 scoreless innings en route to a win.

Mike Minor(1-2, 4.59 ERA) will replace the injured Jair Jurrjens on the bump today for the Braves as he makes his first start since June 21st in Toronto. Although he was optioned following his start, Minor pitched terrifically during the outing, pitching 7 innings while allowing only 1 run and striking out 8. On June 16th, Minor allowed 5 earned runs in 3 1/3 innings against the Mets in Atlanta, with Jose Reyes collecting 2 hits against the rookie.
