Pre-Game 128: New York Mets(60-67) @ Philadelphia Phillies(81-44)

The New York Mets will look to avoid falling 8 games under .500 tonight as they oppose the best team in baseball in the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park at 7:10 PM ET

Jonathan Niese(11-10, 4.05 ERA) will look to help the Mets escape from the hole they've dug themselves into coming out of a quality start in San Diego in which Niese pitched 6 innings and allowed 3 runs on 10 hits. Over his last 10 starts, Niese has pitched poorly to the tune of an ERA of 4.72. Niese struggled down the stretch last year as well and will look to continue on his solid performance against the best record in baseball.

David Wright has voiced his frustrations about how difficult this season has been to watch, even earning a mention from manager Terry Collins saying how he appreciates his leadership on the team, but reminded Wright to stay within himself. Wright has been right on about most things and the disappointing nature the team has displayed over the past 20 games, or more specifically since Jose Reyes and Daniel Murphy went down with injuries, has been very disheartening.
