Pre-Game: Game 116 - San Diego Padres VS New York Mets

The Mets and Padres will play game 3 of their 4 game series tonight at Citi Field. The Mets came from behind for the second consecutive game last night as they defeated the Padres by the score of 5-4. Lucas Duda is really starting to make a case for himself as an important part of the organization's future. After singling home the tying and winning runs Monday night, Duda showed that he is a team first guy by dropping down a key SAC bunt that lead to the tying run scoring in the 8th inning last night.

On the mound for the Mets tonight will be right-handed knuckleballer R.A. Dickey (5-10, 3.72). Dickey pitched well in his last outing on Friday against Atlanta as he allowed only 2 ER through 7 innings of work. Unfortunately, just like most of his 2011 season, the Mets offense was asleep and was only able to muster 1 run on the evening. Dickey has really struggled at home in 2011. In 12 home starts, the right-hander is 1-7, with a 4.09 ERA.

On the hill for San Diego will be right-hander Aaron Harang (10-3, 3.91). Harang has had a nice bounce back season after a dreadful 2010 in Cincinnati. The veteran right-hander is 5-0 with a 4.63 ERA in eight away starts, winning each of his last three despite a 6.06 ERA. He has struggled terribly against New York in his career, posting a 2-3 record and an ERA over 6.00 (6.11).
