Reyes Leaves Game With Hamstring Stiffness

Updated at 5:18:  Although no decision has been made on whether or not to place Jose Reyes on this disabled list at this time, Mets' GM Sandy Alderson disclosed that the team believes that Reyes has a 'mild' hamstring pull.  He also noted that the hamstring that sent Reyes to the DL prior to the All-Star break was also 'mild' in nature.  We will update again when more concrete information is available.

Update at 3:40: Jose Reyes will have an MRI at the Hospital for Special Surgery this evening.

Posted at 2:57: Jose Reyes left the game this afternoon with stiffness in his previously injured left hamstring.  There was no information immediately available in regards to the severity of the injury and it is unknown at this time if he will land on the disabled list.

Should he end up there, it will be the second time this season Reyes will miss time due to his legs.  If he doesn't end up on the disabled list, but does miss time in order to rest the injury the Mets may have to recall Ruben Tejada to give themselves another middle infield option.  That may make Nick Evans the odd many out and could lead to him being designated for assignment once again.

More information on this when it becomes available...
