Mets haven't contacted Broxton

Jonathan Broxton appears to be a good fit for the Mets, he's looking for a one year deal with incentives as he attempts to restore his career.  The 27 y/o closer was a two time All-Star in which he collected 58 saves with an ERA under three.  But Broxton hasn't effectively pitched in a year and a half,  he's just over a month removed from what is described as minor elbow surgery.  I'm not sure the Mets have contacted anyone yet, but if they have and are avoiding Broxton maybe the risk out weighs the savings...

Jonathan Broxton would appear to fit that criteria. But the Mets are not in the mix for the former Dodger, according to's Jerry Crasnick source ESPN NY
