"I think we're going to be better than you think," he said. "We would hope that Mets fans enjoy going to the ballpark and give this team a try." Wall Street JournalUndoubtedly feeling frisky by the news that his best buddy and MLB Commissioner, Bud Selig, will be on board through the 2014 season, Fred Wilpon has decided to bring his own personal spin to this upcoming season. Give his team a try...
Wilpon also makes a variety of other comments with regards to filling the seats at Citi Field, and how its necessary to field a good team, without issuing faulty long term contracts in the process to do so.
You can be certain of one thing, Mr. Wilpon has a plan. What is that plan? Well its to continue to give you the idea that he's making these changes in your best interest. To stop issuing risky long term deals to players in their prime, simply because they haven't worked out in reason years. Not because he's trying to figure out how to keep the lights on come August.
Give the team a try... I don't mean to be negative Mr. Wilpon, but I've tried your team on for size in reason years. I've even bought in to the hype..as recently as last season. This season, however, will be different. There will be no hype. No anticipation of great things to come. No sir...my only anticipation entering the 2012 season, is that it will be your last, for that is the only thing that can turn this franchise around!
