Fukudome could return to Japan - should Mets look first

Cody Ross was seen as a back-up outfielder who could become a starter and play center field, making the bench entirely right handed made him a less then perfect fit which is why I can't fault them when he went to Boston for 3M on a major league deal.

Kosuke Fukudome is left handed and played over 100 games in center as recently as 2009, he wouldn't be an exciting signing but he might fit or needs and I'd hope he'd pick a minor league deal with the Mets over returning to Japan.  The 34 y/o in four major league seasons has compiled a BA of .260 with an OBP .361, Slg. .399 and a .760 OPS.

According to Ken Rosenthal he wants to stay in the majors but some believe he'll end up back in Japan...

Fukudome, who had a combined .712 OPS last season for the Cubs and Indians, wants to remain in the majors, according to a source with knowledge of his thinking. Some executives, however, believe he may end up back in Japan. source Fox Sports
