Herrera makes it through waivers and remains w/ Mets

Daniel Herrera has made it through waivers and will remain with the organization.  Andy Martino explains that Herrera didn't have the option to elect for free agency.  Last year Herrera was claimed off waivers by the Brewers from the Reds and later the Brewers would DFA him in which he would make it through and stay with the Brewers in the minors until his trade to the Mets.

I thought players could elect for free agency after their first time through waivers but maybe it's their first time through with that organization...
