If not Francis it will be someone...

On Friday it was reported that the Mets along with three other teams were interested in Jeff Francis.  I like Francis because he's a lefty and I believe he's better then his numbers indicated last year.  Unconnected to the rumored market heating up, Fangraph did a piece on Francis basically saying despite solid peripherals he's going to need solid defense with an 85mph fastball.

Rich Coutinho believes that if it isn't Francis the Mets will bring in someone so that the youngsters aren't rushed.  Were not talking about an impact pitcher more of a journeyman or coming back from injury type of pitcher.

Here is who is left on the starting pitcher market;
Kyle Davies, Zack Duke, Jeff Francis, Jon Garland, Rich Harden, Livan Hernandez, Edwin Jackson,Scott Kazmir, Ross Ohlendorf, Roy Oswalt, Brad Penny, Branden Webb, Chris Young, Clay Hensley, Sergio Mitre
