For anyone who did take offense to the fact that Ruben Tejada was not early to Spring Training he did arrive this morning as expected.
The youngster, who will assume the role of everyday shortstop in the absence of Jose Reyes, drew the ire of Terry Collins when it became public that he would not join the rest of the team prior to the required report date. Several Mets players also expressed disappointment, but Tejada has blamed a visa issue for his delayed arrival. Take away from that whatever you want, but he's there now so hopefully everyone can move on.
The only other player of note who did not arrive early was off-season acquisition, Ronny Cedeno, who also arrived this morning.
