Beato getting an MRI

Pedro Beato was pulled from yesterday's game with shoulder stiffness.

Last year he was sidelined with an elbow injury from May 5th through May 21st, the injury was believed to be similar to tennis elbow and just needed rest.

On August 16th Beato gave up two runs on three hits in an inning of work and his ERA ballooned to 4.10.  Beato was given four days off and it was determined that he was experiencing arm fatigue.

For the rest of the season he would only appear twice in consecutive games, getting as much as five days rest in between games at times.

He ended the season with a 4.30 ERA with a 1.28 WHIP in 60 appearances, 67 innings.

Andy Martino is reporting that the Mets are sending Beato for an MRI...
