Brydak surgery on torn meniscus

Multiple sources are now reporting that Tim Byrdak has a torn meniscus and will require surgery.  I not sure how long the recovery process is but I've heard people already speculating that he'll be out until at least the end of May.

The Mets don't have much depth from the left side of the mound, in camp are; Chuck James, Garrett Olson, Robert Carson and Daniel Herrera.

None of the group appeared to be truly contending for a roster spot prior to Byrdak's injury.

They also have Justin Hampson in minor league camp and are attempting to sign C.J. Nitkowski, as well as a few left handed relievers still on the market like Mike Gonzalez.
