Olson has a contusion...

Garrett Olson who appeared to be the front runner for the left handed relievers role, until Tim Byrdak returned was injured in a minor league game today.  Olson has a contusion on his left hand and depending on how long it effects his pitching the injury could have just elevated Josh Edgin from A+ ball straight to the majors.

Olson had appeared in seven games to a 1.69 ERA while Edgin in seven games has not allowed a run yet.  Edgin has looked very good so far but I can't help but wonder how much of that success is due to hitters not being use to him...
