Young close to returning on MiLB

Andy McCullough of the Star Ledger is reporting that the Mets should finalize a minor league deal with Chris Young by the end of the week.  Young was excellent in his four starts for the Mets last year but it seems like an awful fast return from the same surgery Johan Santana had and took twice as long to return.  It doesn't really impact them to bring him in on a minor league deal, I'm just skeptical as to whether he'll actually contribute this year.  The front office likes Young and this could basically be allowing him to use the facilities to rehab...

Another survivor of anterior capsule surgery is expected to rejoin the Mets by the end of the week. Chris Young, who started four games last season, is close to an agreement on a minor-league contract with the team, according to a person with knowledge of the situation. source NJ.com
