Andres Torres Will Be Ready For Opening Day

First reported by Adam Rubin this morning, and now confirmed by the team itself via twitter, Andres Torres will start today for the Mets rather than its minor league equivalent as he has since the weekend. Doing so prevents the Mets from backdating a trip to the disabled list and essentially confirms that Torres will in fact be on the field for Opening Day on Thursday.

Multiple sources have also reported that backup plan, Vinny Rottino has been sent to Triple-A Buffalo. Therefore, Torres is the man going forward.
