Terrible news tonight for Mets fans as the Mets just released the results of David Wright's x-rays. Multiple sources, including ESPN's Adam Rubin, Wright has a small fracture in the middle knuckle of his right finger. He will not require surgery, but will be forced into a splint and will likely be headed to the disabled list.
The Mets haven't released a time table for Wright's return, but the pinky fracture will impact David's ability to hold the bat. That in turn will impact his bat speed and power until it has healed fully. My guess is that ideally Wright will miss four weeks, but if they hold him out until full healed, it could be more.
